Aya Takano is one of Japan’s most popular and globally active artists.

She is currently preparing for a solo exhibition to be held later this year in Germany.
Takano draws her inspiration from science-fiction and her fantastical work blends Japanese manga, science-fiction novels, and a delicate touch of eroticism with a twist of Japonisme.
Her colorful, imaginative world has entranced fans around the world, including a number of Hollywood celebrities.
She is a member of the artist collective Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd.

Aya Takano is now one of Japan’s most popular young artists, gaining worldwide acclaim for her talents. Takano expresses her many sources of inspiration in a variety of forms: painting; drawing; manga; illustration; and essay.

Make-up maestro shu uemura and artist Aya Takano come together for a celebration of urban magic inspired by contemporary Japonisme. Feel a festive frisson for Christmas 2010.
