I am a chanel fanatic anyone who knows me can tell you. However I got a little upset when I was unable to get a bottle of the Chanel Jade Nail Polish and went on Strike. Okay so I got over it I am loving this collection, however I only choose a couple of items from it that I could see myself wearing. I wear trends regardless of how off the wall they may be or what people think of them. However Chanel is a classic and I think even when they follow a ” trend” it’s a classic so here are my picks from the collection!

A sophisticated eyeshadow quad of deep shades: Intense green, Mahogany, Midnight blue and Dark violet.

You could create a great smokey eye with these must have shadows ( see pic below )

My Other pick from this collection were the lipsticks New Limited – Edition iconic lipstick in dark and seductively rich hues: Manic, Hysteria and Obscure.

Now that the season is starting to change so is your skin. My skin tends to get dry spots and pale and anything and everything shows. Unlike the warmer months of summer I normally can just go out with a little mineral powder that has some bronzer in it. Winter is another story so now that my skin is a little older I need to wear a little something with a bit more coverage during the winter.

I recently tried LA MER’s Line consisting of a cream foundation, a liquid foundation and a translucent powder. I personally choose the liquid foundation color ( Ivory) and the translucent powder color ( clear ). The foundation a perfect match and the powder slide on my skin like silk.  The powder had the smallest grains of what looked like diamonds to help deflect the light from any imperfections you may have. The jar was very large so the price of $65.00 seemed to be a great deal.

The foundation was just the right amount of coverage not to heavy or light. Good for day or night time looks. It carried a price tag of $95.00 and had that diamond affect in it as well. Next time you are in the mall and near a Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus stop by the LA MER counter and try some for yourself.

I can’t say that everyone has the same problem that I seem to have every winter. I’m talking about dry, dull, flakey skin. I get the same thing every year although this fall/winter is a little different because it’s been in the 80’s and it’s Nov? Since the weather can’t make up it’s mind my skin doesn’t seem to be able to eaither. So I am dealing with an array of issues. Dry spots, break outs and dull skin. So what is my solution you ask? Westin St. John

As you may or may not know the Westin is a part of a much bigger hotel portfolio called the Starwood Hotels & Resorts?  Several major names such as Le Meridien, Four Points, Westin, Starwood’s Luxury Collection, A loft, Sheraton, Element, St. Regis and W Hotels.

I am a Starwood Preferred Guest and have enjoyed travel at almost of all the resorts above. Most recently the Westin St. John located in the US Virgin Islands where you will find White sugar-sand beaches and turquoise waters. This resort was a sublime tropical retreat. Overseeing Cruz Bay and minutes from the National Park. 

My experience:

From the moment we stepped of the plane we were greeted at the airport with mini shots of rum and a warm and welcoming smile and a little island twang “ welcome to the islands “ I immediately felt right at home.  We waited along side of honeymooners, people celebrating anniversary’s and people who were time share holders at the Westin expecting to see our luggage arrive like everyone’s. Mind you it’s midnight in St. Thomas so we had been traveling close to 24hrs due to the fact that we missed a connection and had to be rerouted through Miami. But once we landed and caught the “island fever “ none of that seemed to matter. As we waited until the last bag come of the luggage machine and the bags weren’t there we had a Westin representive take care of helping us file a claim and then we were off in a cab that took us on about a 30 minute ride to a dock where we took a ferry for what seemed to be another 30 minutes or so. It was so amazing being on the ocean where all I could see were stars and more stars. I could smell the strong smell of salt in the air and hear the boat crashing through the waves It was the most amazing feeling ever.

Once we arrived we were driven to our room where we were so excited to just flop on the bed and just sleep… Upon waking at 6am to see all the yachts docked in front of the resort and this crystal blue water as blue as my eyes  I threw on my swim suit and ran out like a wild banshee. I only stuck my toes in the water it felt like my bathtub the water was so warm and the sand was soft as cotton. I felt like I was on another planet or something… The resort was crawling with all kinds of wild life from iguanas to exotic birds and lizards. It didn’t seem to matter what time of day it was or where we were we always were greeted and give smiles…  back to realty no luggage the hotel was so kind especially the manager

(Kevin) I sat down with him and explained the situation he was so nice that he upgraded us and even gave us a resort credit to use in town to purchase clothing, food, or medicine considering some of us were sick or were becoming sick (me) Two days into the vacation the luggage arrived and we were able to enjoy the vacation we set out for. I give the Westin St. John six stars and will be going back as soon as I can. I also had the joy of visiting the spa OMG! The massage I received was so amazing. Overall it was perfect! So if you are wondering where to go on vacation I say take the plunge and visit St. John
